We Are Now Accepting Nominations for the 2009 “Mary L. Lapos Communication Award”
This is an award created at the 1st Communication Mentors’ Network Conclave by Communication Mentors themselves, to be given each year to acknowledge a Communication Mentor or other person who:
- Exemplifies the strength, tenacity and resilience needed as a Communication Mentor,
- Creates and nourishes an environment conducive for growth,
acceptance, and trust by teaching, modeling, and pushing others, - Accepts differences and sensitivities in others -- seeing them not as different but unique and individual -- and honors the unnoticed or unrecognized potential each person offers in their personality and inherent gifts,
- Continues to push limits and hurdle barriers to reach the ultimate goal of full communication, total acceptance, and complete inclusion of everyone, and
- Will not accept "the unchangeable person" and continues to set the bar high for expectations and accomplishment for themselves, fellow Communication Mentors, and those utilizing their profound expertise.
