Employment Is Possible

Employment for all is very important to me, and I have built my career on this principle.    I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to work, regardless of their disability.  Over the past years, I have been able to assist and support individuals with significant disabilities in gaining meaningful employment… people who would not have been given the chance to work in the past due to their disability.  Assistive technology and creative supports have been the discovery that so many have been waiting for in order to be successful on the job as a Communication Mentor, I have been able to expand my thinking, research, explore, try out, and investigate with individuals a huge array of technology for on the job support.  This has been an amazingly freeing experience for the individual as well as myself!  To have the ability to support a person in pursuing their personal dreams for employment is awesome.  Being able to support an individual who may not use the spoken word to communicate and show the world through the use of technology that employment is possible for all is the ultimate accomplishment.
